White cedar

A genus of evergreen conifers and shrubs of the cypress family. There are 5 known species, distributed in East Asia and North America. In Ukraine, 4 species are grown as ornamentals, most often western thuja (Thuja occidentalis L.) up to 20 m tall. It is frost-resistant, withstands smoke and shearing well; The wood is lightweight, resistant to rot. It is cultivated in botanical gardens and parks almost all over Ukraine.
